The Reply Window Concept: Why Timing Beats Copy After Touch #2
The reply window is the short interval after a message is seen during which the prospect is most likely to respond. For email, 24 to 48 hours; for LinkedIn DMs, 8 to 24 hours.
Why Timing Wins
A 2-email sequence produces the highest per-send reply rate at 6.9 percent. A 3-7-7 cadence captures 93 percent of all campaign replies. Most of the conversion sits in placement, not prose.
Peak Windows
7 to 11 AM and 1 to 2 PM local time are the strongest windows. Wednesday AM is the single highest-engagement slot. Friday PM collapses into the weekend gap; avoid.
Cadence Pattern
3-7-7 (Day 1 opener, Day 3, Day 10, Day 17) is the most broadly validated pattern. Returns flatten after 4 to 5 touches; incremental replies past touch 5 mostly come from trigger-based re-engagement.
Operational Setup
Anchor Touch 2 to Wednesday AM. Track reply-window-hit rate: 70 to 80 percent of Touch 2 sends should land inside the 48-hour window. Variance on the same list can reach 2 to 3x between best and worst-timed sends.
